Manchester Pride 2023 Events: A Celebration of Love, Equality and Community
Manchester Pride returned in 2023 with a vibrant program that spanned four days over the August bank holiday weekend. Thousands of visitors gathered in the city centre to enjoy music, art, activism and family‑friendly entertainment. The event’s success was driven by a mix of high‑profile headliners, local talent, and a strong volunteer network that kept the streets safe and welcoming.
Theme and Vision
In February 2020 the organizing committee announced the theme for this year’s Manchester Pride: “Together We Shine”. The message encouraged participants to celebrate diversity, promote mental‑health awareness and champion LGBTQ+ rights. Throughout the weekend, the theme was reflected in colourful installations, rainbow‑lit bridges and collaborative art projects that invited the public to add their own messages of hope.
Day‑by‑Day Highlights
